About the Social Enterprise Mark Company

The Mark itself is a social enterprise.

The Social Enterprise Mark Company has been set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) Limited by shares. It is a joint venture between the Social Enterprise Coalition and RISE.

Lucy Findlay is the Managing Director of the Social Enterprise Mark Company and her experience in the pilot project with RISE ensures the Mark is tested and responds to the social enterprise movement's needs

The Social Enterprise Mark Company believes it is beneficial to our economy and society to have a strong social enterprise movement and we believe the sector will grow in size and strength if more peopleñ from consumers, to businesses to the government - are able to easily identify what a social enterprise is.

Social enterprises are businesses doing really extraordinary things in new and innovative ways but they have until now been hard to recognise, partly because they work in practically every industry imaginable and range from community enterprises to international companies

We want the Mark to not only transform the social enterprise movement, but to change the shape of business.
