How To Apply
Applying for the Mark couldn't be easier. Agree to the Terms and Conditions, complete the online form and submit it with your supporting information and payment.
Simply register for the Mark and you will be sent your login details by email. Verify your login and complete the form. You don't have to complete it in one go, you can save your form and return to it at a later point before submitting it.

Costs
It costs £99 plus vat, for each submitted application.
- Although payment is submitted at the time of application, the payment is not activated until you are successfully approved to become a Mark holder.
- If you do not become a Mark holder, payment will not be deducted.
- When payment is deducted, you are eligible to use the Mark for one year.,
- If you are a member of a group of companies, a separate application should be submitted for each company within the group, wishing to use the Mark.
The process
- You will be required to agree to the terms and conditions, submit your online application together with supporting documents, and finish with payment.
- If at any point during the application process you have not provided appropriate information, you will be advised that you are not eligible. If this happens, please read carefully the Qualifying Criteria and FAQs.
- When you have successfully submitted your application, together with payment, you will receive an automated email of acknowledgement, with a unique reference number for your application. If you don’t receive the email of acknowledgement, your application has not been received by our team of assessment experts.
- You now have a 7 day cooling off period, when you are free to change your mind and cancel your application. If you would like to cancel your application, please advise us as soon as possible by contacting apply@socialenterprisemark.org.uk
- When filling out the application form, you may find that you don’t fall into the categories provided. In this case, you will be able to complete some parts of the form with an explanation about your organisation.
- Your application will be reviewed by our team of assessment experts, overseen by our Certification Committee. You will be advised within 28 working days, if you have been successful. If you are unsuccessful, no payment will be taken from you.
Renewing your licence
Renewing your licence could not be simpler – you need do nothing initially!
- After 11 and 23 months of holding the licence, you will be sent a reminder email, asking you to complete your online renewal form (for years 2 and 3), together with payment. The form asks for some basic information about changes to your constitution, your recent accounts and achievements. If you remain eligible, successfully complete the renewal form and provide payment, your licence will remain in place.
- After 35 months of holding the licence, you will be required to complete another full application. You will be sent a reminder email as above.
