Winners announced for ‘win £1000 worth of advertising’
June 25, 2010
The Social Enterprise Mark has announced the three winners of its competition to win £1000 worth of free advertising; Green-Works, Vision Support Trading and Oxford Wood Recycling.
The competition, launched in April, entered every new applicant for the Mark into a draw to win the complimentary advertising. The winners, which have been picked at random, will get the chance to design an advert in consultation with the Social Enterprise Mark Co. which will feature in a publication of their choice.
Green Works, based in Wembley, was founded in 2000. The social enterprise aims to turn redundant office furniture into an asset and a resource, diverting it away from landfill. Additionally it works with socially and physically disadvantaged people in its depots across the UK. Since 2000 Green Works has grown to a £2 million charity with four franchises across the UK.
Emma Raw, Marketing Executive, Green-Works said, “Green-Works is delighted to have been awarded this prize from the social enterprise mark. Advertising can be very expensive and this prize will enable us to gain some high profile exposure in key press, spreading the word about our furniture reuse and recycling services across the corporate world.”
Vision Support Trading (VST) provides specialist transcription in four main operating areas, secured data, utilities, pharmaceuticals; and telecoms. Since being founded in 2001, VST has enjoyed significant growth from four employees working from a single room to over 50 colleagues in a dedicated office complex. VST also provides transcription services to some of the biggest and best known companies within the UK.
David Scott, Vision Support Trading Ltd said, “We are delighted to hear that we have been chosen to receive £1000 towards advertising. We will use this to publicise our serves to an even wider audience and hopefully spread the word about social enterprise into the bargain.”
Oxford Wood Recycling Ltd (OWR) reuses and recycles wood and timber, helping to reduce the amount of waste wood sent to landfill in Oxfordshire and West Berkshire. OWR carefully sorts and processes waste wood selling a range reclaimed timber and other wood materials.
Richard Snow, CEO, Oxford Wood Recycling, “We’re really pleased to have won this advertising opportunity from the Social Enterprise Mark. It will enable us to reach a new audience for our wood and timber for re-use.”
Lucy Findlay, Managing Director, Social Enterprise Mark Co. said, “Congratulations to all our winners, we are looking forward to working with them to develop their free advertising. There has been a huge growth in applications to the Social Enterprise Mark since its launch and each new member brings a unique new facet to the community, helping to raise awareness of the Mark by using our logo in their marketing materials.”
