Stevenage Leisure Ltd (SLL) works closely in partnership with 5 local authorities, to deliver leisure and cultural activities and opportunities for all of the community at 17 indoor and outdoor facilities- across 9 towns and with a team of 1,000 committed staff. Across its diverse portfolio SLL manages almost every type of leisure and cultural activity but, most importantly, is focused on improving the physical and mental wellbeing of everyone in the community, particularly those who are traditionally non-users of such services, through imaginative and inclusive programming at value for money prices. The company has recently won the ‘Business in the Community’ Award at the Hertfordshire Business awards in recognition of its community and social efforts. As a Non-Profit Distributing Organisation (NPDO) SLL is committed to reinvesting any surpluses generated through its operations and activities back into the facilities, for the benefit of the local community, our partners and staff. As a company we are focussed on managing and reducing the environmental impacts of our own businesses and that of our suppliers. This will be brought together through the introduction of an Environmental Management System (EMS) to identify the efficient use of energy, water and materials, and promote the sustainable use of renewable resources in our day to day activities. The company has also developed a range of environmental and energy efficiency projects at its various centres, and we will continue to empower and encourage our staff to make informed environmental choices by providing relevant information and offering affordable alternatives.
