As the social enterprise arm of the charity Age UK, our mission is to offer products and services that enhance later life. We have over 26 years experience in meeting the needs of our target audience and currently over 1.1 million customers. We do not exist to make a profit. Where we make a surplus, 100% of that surplus is Gift Aided back to the Charity, which directly helps fund its vital work to enhance later life for millions of people in the UK. Last year we returned a surplus of over £21million to the charity in 2009/10. This is gift aided back and directly helps fund their vital work enhancing later life for millions of people in the UK. These funds also buffer the charity from being at risk of being wholly reliant on public funding We look after our customers. In a world of increasing technology, we offer a friendly face-to-face service through our UK wide network made up of 280 independent Age Concern offices supported by600 staff and volunteers. This is supported by our award winning telephone customer support and website. Over the coming months Age UK will continue to offer our existing product range and launch new products and services where we have (a) looked at what’s currently available on the market (b) seen where the market is failing people in later life and (c) designed our own product or service to offer much better value
