SOFA Project Bristol was founded in 1982 as the ˜Shifting Old Furniture Around Project". What started as one man and a van has now grown to a large shop supported by 8 lorries and vans, a workshop, two warehouses and 20 staff collecting and delivering all over the Avon area.
SOFA's charitable objective was set as supplying second hand furniture, household goods and domestic electrical appliances to people in conditions of need by sourcing items from community donors. In time this has expanded to include graded items sourced from manufacturers and retailers and these are now attracting people looking to buy more smartly for their home refurbishments.
