Social Impact Statements:
Social Impact Statements
The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate that social and/or environmental objectives are being achieved.
In support of this, new applicants and renewing Mark holders must submit Social Impact Statements that summarise their headline activities and achievements, helping show how they are striving to make a difference and stand up to scrutiny of purpose as a social enterprise.
Updated October 2016
1) Working with the local community to deliver arts projects
Art4Space has more than 15 years’ experience and has completed over 300 community projects. The directors are highly trained and qualified in working with children and adults. Art4Space has excellent project management skills. In 2016 we have completed 45 projects.
The business has been embedded in the Stockwell community for more than fifteen years and has recently secured a new community art space. Art4Space has already worked with residents of the estates we are targeting for this project and has strong links with the local schools and community organisations operating in the local area.
Art4Space has been running a volunteer programme for over four years providing volunteer opportunities for London residents who want to gain experience in the arts, workshop delivery and project management.
Art4Space has been delivering accredited training courses for low income or economically in active Lambeth residents for four years. One of the accredited training courses ‘Community Champions’ gave learners the skills needed to set up their own community projects – covering fundraising, project planning, risk assessments, workshops, legal documentation. This project that we are applying to BPS for will uses the successes of this course but will be more tailored to local residents and support them in their community benefit projects.
Art4Space are widely linked with community organisations across Lambeth and provide a signposting service for all our beneficiaries.
2) Example of our work
Art4Space has recently completed a project called Connecting Stockwell, bringing together local schools, businesses and community groups to collaborate on a mosaic project for the local high street. The imagery celebrates the great cultural heritage of Stockwell.
There have been 2,000 beneficiaries of our work this year (2016).
