  • Breathe provides a research based multi-disciplinary treatment programme for eating distress i.e. Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Compulsive Eating and failed dieting/ obesity.

    Breathe uses a holistic integrative treatment model founded by The National Centre For Eating Disorders and involves the combined us of therapeutic interventions delivered through an overall patient centred approach including:

    This treatment enables people to explore and understand themselves and their needs better. Clients find out what precipitates, perpetuates and pre-disposes them to what currently keeps them unhappy and in self destructive behavioural patterns and habits. Through this new self awareness they develop new goals and strategies in every area of their life and learn how to work towards them.

    Breathe aims To:

    • Provide a local and accessible specialist service for those with eating distress including failed dieting.
    • Provide a confidential, professional and individualised treatment package in a sage and therapeutic environment.
    • Provide a challenging but positive journey experience towards emotional and physical wellbeing. Engender hope and a message of recovery and wholeness.

    Breathe employs clinicians with specialist knowledge and experience in the treatment of eating disorders, weight management and mental health. Breathe believes that all individuals have a plan and a purpose for their lives and that with encouragement and support they can be released to find it and enjoy it! Breathe provides help and the skills to change for depression, anxiety, stress and anger management issues.

    Breathe can offer group work and seminars to relevant organizations, eg. Occupational health departments.

    Social Impact Statements

    The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate that social and/or environmental objectives are being achieved.

    In support of this, new applicants and renewing Mark holders must submit Social Impact Statements that summarise their headline activities and achievements, helping show how they are striving to make a difference and stand up to scrutiny of purpose as a social enterprise.

    1) Accessible treatment for those who need it

    The availability and accessibility of our services and treatments have allowed us to treat over 30 individuals who otherwise would not have received the treatment elsewhere due to its unavailability within a community setting.

     


    2) Early intervention

    Early intervention is key to good prognosis in mental health and eating disorders. Due to the availability of our specialist team of clinicians we were able to offer appointments within 3 days of referral/enquiry.

     


    3) Improved physical and mental health and wellbeing

    100% of our clients reported improvements in their physical and mental health and wellbeing and for those who were discharged would consider themselves to be maintaining there recovery and able to engage in social/work activities.
