Social Impact Statements
The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate that social and/or environmental objectives are being achieved.
In support of this, new applicants and renewing Mark holders must submit Social Impact Statements that summarise their headline activities and achievements, helping show how they are striving to make a difference and stand up to scrutiny of purpose as a social enterprise.
1) Supporting the development of social enterprise initatives
FUSE consultancy offers organisations and individuals the opportunity to generate and develop new social enterprise initiatives and develop and grow them in a sustainable way whilst measuring and reporting on social impact and value. FUSE delivers results through a portfolio of services including consultancy, feasibility and business planning, facilitation and visioning, consultation and engagement, marketing and communications and project management.
In the last year we have done a considerable amount of work around community asset transfers and project management, supporting communities and the third sector to realise ambitions through right to bid, right to build, right to challenge, develop partnerships, reporting and measuring social value and impact by developing frameworks for the collection, monitoring and evaluation of social value.
FUSE social enterprises work on the model of providing work experience and training opportunities for disadvantaged unemployed adults to improve employment chances through volunteer programmes and community engagement activities. We deliver activities and opportunities designed to build confidence, improve well being, community cohesion and resilience.
2) Key facts and figures
FUSE operates as a partner within Wrekin Housing Group, however our mission is to develop and grow social enterprise in the UK.
Our main area of operation is Shropshire, Staffordshire and Telford & Wrekin, but we are also able to work in any part of the UK should the opportunities arise.
Since inception in 2014 we have worked with a wide range of partners including local authorities, charities, social housing providers and worked with some of the most disadvantaged communities in those areas, particularly in Stafford, Telford and Cannock. We have provided opportunities to over 200 disadvantaged adults and supported approximately half of those into employment either through our own growth or through supported placements to improve employability.
3) Social outcomes
We are in the process of measuring our social outcomes and will have the results at the end of 2016.
