To grow a Social Enterprise creating a social impact in our community where local people have the confidence to ask important questions and be heard also where they will be supported to reach their goals.

Social Impact Statements
The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate that social and/or environmental objectives are being achieved.
In support of this, new applicants and renewing Mark holders must submit Social Impact Statements that summarise their headline activities and achievements, helping show how they are striving to make a difference and stand up to scrutiny of purpose as a social enterprise.

1) Providing community based services to provide link between communities and local services
Joining Communities provides community based services, providing a link between communities and local services to enrich lives.
We do this by:
- Helping you look for work, learn job-search activities including CV writing and the new digital skills you need to move into employment
- Training course and workshops to prepare the unemployed for the workplace
- Helping you to build self confidence through classroom based workshops and coaching & mentoring
- Providing a room hire service for your community group or organisation to deliver your project, hold meetings or training sessions
Also in August 2012 we became a Star Partner with UnLtd, the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in the UK. Additionally the directors of Joining Communities are mentors for other social entrepreneurs within the UnLtd network.
The following is a list of great things that Joining Communities are doing successfully:
- Helping jobseekers learn the skills needed to get into work
- NEET programmes
- Digital programmes including:
- Online Basics, Job Search in the Digital Age
- 50+ Digital Work skills for people over the age of 50
- Supported Employability
- Older people’s programmes, in particular, helping them to get online so that they can access the services they need to keep them in a home and stay healthy
2) Measures of activities
Since 1st August 2015, we have been funded for 550 learners, to help them learn digital skills and become more work ready.
Volunteers have provided over 3,800 hours to support our learners.
Over 3,000 local people have accessed our drop-in facilities.
3) Outcomes for beneficiaries
As a result of attending our courses:
- 7 learners achieved Entry Level 2 Maths
- 6 learners achieved Entry Level 3 Maths
- 3 learners achieved Level 1 Maths
- 2 learners achieved Entry Level 1 English
- 7 learners achieved Entry Level 2 English
- 3 learners achieved Entry Level 3 English
- 3 learners achieved Level 1 English
- 4 learners achieved Level 2 English
- 111 learners have benefitted from our Health and Wellbeing programme, which targeted those with mild to moderate mental health and have gained more confidence when looking for work when using their learned skills
- 495 learners now have a relevant and up to date CV, they are better prepared to use their digital skills for job search and are more work ready
- 229 learners now have a email account
- 1,602 residents supported to improve their digital skills 1602 people
