    Social Impact Statements

The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate that social and/or environmental objectives are being achieved.

In support of this, new applicants and renewing Mark holders must submit Social Impact Statements that summarise their headline activities and achievements, helping show how they are striving to make a difference and stand up to scrutiny of purpose as a social enterprise.

    1) Providing support to marginalised people to overcome barriers

The Jericho Foundation is a registered charity (No 1037084) which was set up in 1993 to seek out, engage with, and support people who are at the margins of society and who are experiencing significant personal and occupational barriers to employment, social inclusion and training, including:

    • long-term unemployment
    • homelessness
    • alcohol or substance misuse
    • criminal records
    • low self-esteem or confidence
    • mental health problems
    • victims of human trafficking

    2) Delivering supported training and work experience

We deliver a range of employment and training related programmes, but our core provision is the delivery of supported training, work experience and apprenticeship programmes within our 8 social enterprise businesses.

Over our 23 year history we have delivered a wide range of employment focused programmes to around 7,000 disadvantaged individuals.

    3) Positively impacting on lives

We currently provide employment and individual support to a total of 34 beneficiaries across our range of Social Enterprises, which include Catering, Cleaning, Construction, Landscaping, Print, Recycling, Wood Recycling, Reusers and the Loft Workspace.

Through our Social Enterprises and our Ignition Programme, 553 peoples lives were positively impacted by Jericho in 2015:
