Social Impact Statements
The Social Enterprise Mark criteria includes a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate that social and/or environmental objectives are being achieved.
In support of this, new applicants and renewing Mark holders must submit Social Impact Statements that summarise their headline activities and achievements, helping show how they are striving to make a difference and stand up to scrutiny of purpose as a social enterprise.

1) Providing fully accessible and integrated health and social care services
Mastercall Healthcare provide the communities of Stockport and Trafford with fully accessible Health and Social care, which is fully integrated for all social groups and levels of disabilities. Patient transport is provided for vulnerable, disabled and disadvantaged clients. Mastercall Healthcare supports everyone having access to healthcare and no-one is ever refused care or assistance.
We undertake provision of care within clients’ homes as well as within our clinics, to minimise the impact that their care will have upon their daily lives. We currently provide GP telephone advice and visits to a local service, The Meadows, which provides mental health care for individuals over the age of 65. We are providing GP telephone advice and visits to The Saffron Ward, which is a step-down ward from Stepping Hill Hospital for patients suffering predominantly delirium, dementia and depression. We provide healthcare facilities at the local homeless shelter, The Wellspring, in Stockport, where we treat a wide range of ailments to homeless and socially disadvantages clients. Some of these clients also present with substance abuse issues which we assist in addressing through our wide network of contacts. Employees collect food donations weekly and send to The Wellspring shelter.
The company has a comprehensive training department for employees, covering mandatory training on safeguarding and information governance, however the company ethos is one of self-development and supports all employees in their personal and social development by way of training and CPD. All employees are encouraged to develop within their own environment and area of expertise.
The company is also supporting an employee who is travelling to a village in India in the next two weeks to assist with a charity who provide support for older members of the community, who are currently disowned as they are perceived to have no social value to their community. There will be a donation to this project and the employee has been granted extended leave to undertake her personal journey.
We facilitate patient focus groups to gather information of the impact we have on our community to aid the development of new services which could be provided under our remit.
2) Engaging with local communities
Mastercall Healthcare supports local charities. We are currently sponsoring two local youth football teams, Marple Athletic Girls U13s football team with their kit (Stockport) and The Old Stretfordians football team with first aid kits (Trafford), and we are just about to start sponsoring a third team which is being newly formed in the local Stockport area, Eastside Spartans FC. These sponsorships are our way of promoting sport as a healthy pastime for the junior residents of the areas we serve.
We have sponsored a cyber bullying and Internet safety program for the local primary school by providing reading material to complement the teaching program. We have also supported employees who have undertaken charity events personally, recently the Race for Life, employees have also donated their own collections to local charitys, The Beechwood cancer centre (Stockport), The Wellspring homeless shelter (Stockport) and Anthony Nolan trust.
We carry out basic lifesaving courses within the community and aim to educate our community, whether it be our own employees or community groups in basic lifesaving care.
We have also been awarded the Daisy mark for our Dignity in Care programme, our patient centred core values of dignity and respect, high quality services, committed and involved staff have been enhanced by this program where we have achieved the standard of over 80% of employees trained and committed to carrying out their duties to internal and external stakeholders. 8 employees are also trained as assessors for the Dignity in Care accreditation programme, therefore reaffirming that we are fully committed to spreading the message within the wider community.
Mastercall holds the Silver Investors in People award.
3) Going above and beyond core services
Along with the sponsorship of various local sports clubs and homeless shelters, we regularly donate to local and national charities, whether it be cash donation or physical goods donations.
We provide patient transport to vulnerable, disabled or disadvantage clients.
We sponsor our internal and external Minor Illness course of education through the John Moores University in Liverpool to advance nurses to advanced nurse practitioner level. Professional, non-clinical, qualifications are also sponsored across a wide variety of staff levels within the organisation including, finance, HR, projects, IT, governance etc . Basic lifesaving courses for non-clinical staff are also sponsored.
